Name: Valerian
Age: 14 seasons
Gender: Female
Species: Fox
Physical Appearance: Eye color: blue
Fur color: silver
Valerian’s muzzle and throat are white, as are her paws. She also has white patches framing her eyes.
Val has vermin tattoos on her forehead (see history!) that resemble a red arrow driving back waves of an opposing army, and she has never seemed to have wanted them removed. She wears a sky-blue tunic with a black shoulder-cloak and a brown leather belt that holds her scabbard and its scimitar.
(No, I did not draw this, but I wish I did. I have a pic of Valerian but haven’t found time to scan it yet.)
Personality: Valerian is pretty peaceful (for a fox) and loves her Abbey. She will defend her home if needed, but prefers not to fight. Valerian never stole, and never felt like engaging in the roguery of some of the Dibbuns in her younger days.
Weapons and Personal Items: Valerian’s favorite weapon is her scimitar; plain and utilitarian but light, sharp and deadly. Its iron hilt is bound in black leather, and the blade is made of iron. She is also skilled with knives and has hit moving targets 10 meters away on a throw.
Have you read the rules?: Taggle Tweedles Twolops.
Job: Is currently without one, aside from playing with Dibbuns and keeping them out of trouble. Can I be Abbess? Recu’s a fox and he’s Abbey Recorder, so why can’t I be Abbess? (No offense. I’m not calling you a vermin.)
Weaknesses/Strengths: Strengths: Good with Weapons, Smart, Kind
Weaknesses: Shy, Know-it-All, often mistaken for a “vermin”.
History: Valerian is the only fox ever to have lived at Redwall Abbey. Her mother died shortly after she was born, and her father, like most vermin warlords, did not care about her and left her in a ditch near Redwall. She was adopted by the creatures of the Abbey and became very unlike most foxes--kind and caring, but shy. Valerian loves to sing and has a beautiful soprano voice that is loved by all of the Abbeydwellers. She wishes to be Abbess, but dreams of being the Abbey Champion as soon as the position reopens.
Relationships: The most accurate phrase to describe Val is “Lone Wolf”. As I have stated before, her mother died shortly after Valerian was born, and her father, quite frankly, never cared about her. She hates being alone, however, and tries to associate herself with other Abbeydwellers.
