"Yes, but..." He leaned over to whisper in his ear, "Don't send them on suicide missions... that won't sit well with their morale..." He then leaned back to his original position, and nibbled away at his wafer, seeing what Irvine would do with twoscore scouts.

The Scouts followed parade-ground style, marching in near-perfect rows of three wide. Tom watched them leave, nibbled on his wafer, then consulted Deimar. "[Now?]" He asked in the ancient tounge. "[Yeah, just getting ready to go.]" the older squirrel replied, stretching. "[Just try and tell them to wait. We'll think of something.]" Deimar nodded, and vanished into the trees. Tom then followed his troops, bringing up the rear.

Tagyr sat in the branches of an oak, observing the camp. He was no squirrell, but he had still climbed the tree to check out the camp. In a moment the otter would climb down again and approach the camp.

Irvine had Traveled about 3 miles in just under 20 minutes....In his holt...Nobeast stopped for a rest. His holt was known for fast traveling. If they stopped they would only grow tired. he looked back seeing the others of Toms division lagging behind. He stopped and waited for them. He breathed heavily since he stopped.

Tom opted for tree-hopping, as did most of the squirrels. However, the ground scouts stumbled behind, some breathing heavily, others not so much. Greymian came first, being a well-muscled individual, followed by the other Tree Wraiths and sky-bound Council LollyGaggers. Tom came in behind the last two privates of his patrol, and was breathing lightly, despite the distance. "Should we spread out now?" He questioned to Irvine.

Back at camp, Deimar watched an otter he hasn't seen before up in a tree. I didn't know otters could climb that high... He thought jokingly. He then bounded up the tree behind him, and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hello. Might I ask what an otter is doing in a tree?" He asked in his usual, slightly age-worn voice.

"Spread out?....Eh...Only about a mile space between us. and keep a few hoppin' the tree between us to...just to keep within' range..." he said refastening his seacoat. It was growing very cold and he didnt know how much more he could handle the stopping every 5 minutes for the small troop following.

Tom nodded, then signalled Greymian by making a clicking sound with his tounge twice and moving his paw in a sweeping motion. Greymian nodded, and between them organized the troops to do as Irvine had instructed. Before everyone spread out totally, Tom clicked his tounge twice again, then held up his paw, his elbow at a perfect ninety degree angle. Then the troopers spread out, only this time silently. The tree-hoppers jumped only on stout branches, the ground scouts moved by using a series of dodges and zig-zags, the whole scene dead silent. Tom dug out his field jacket to ward off the cold, then started tree-hopping as well. The sweep was advancing, stealth utmost in importance while they searched for tracks. The tree-jumpers covered more ground, so most went ahead, leaving a few for communication purposes. A crow cawed its harsh, repetitive note, the only sound for miles around. The snow fell with no breeze to aid it.

Irvine halted and signaled the ones above and behind him to stop. He sniffed the air Smelling firmiliar smells. One was that of Reddust but not his own It was a special mixure that Blade had mixed. He always liked to make it less stingy...still stingy but not as much...just to give the other beast a fighting chance. The other Smell was that of Blade himself. He had a Distinct Clean smell... Far better than any of the others he smelled. "Hurry! This way! Tree jumpers! Tell Tom iv picked up His scent!"

There was no need to, as Tom was following behind Irvine. He signalled quietly to one of his command, and soon the contigent was gathered up once more. "Yeah, I can smell somethin'. Smells like Reddust." Tom said. He then said, "Well, if ye picked up his scent he can't be far. I suggest you go first. The Holt might not know who my people are." The whole time he said this, he was gesturing in Tail code, seemingly to no one in particular.

"Right!" he said rushing off. He slowed down once he got to a set of bushes. He picked up a nearby rock tossing it at Blades head. "Youch! Who threw that!" he shouted. He turned around to the bushes seeing them rustle a bit he krept over ever slowly. Suddenly Irvine Leapt out upon Blade Making Blade jump backward onto his back. "Irvine?....Irvine!" Said Blade in surprise. "Hello Matey!" said Irvine Confirming Blade. They shook paws and laughed a bit standing up."Hey Matey i have few beast who were able to bring me here. They should be by here soon." Irvine said. He gave a whistle signaling they were okay to come.

At Irvine's whistle, ten squirrels immediately appeared in a loose circle out of the tree canopy. Tom then got up from where he was lying prone in the bushes a few meters back. He walked up to Blade as the rest of the scouting party gathered. "Captain Tom Calver, at y'service." he said, offering his paw.

Deimar thought upon the comment for a microsecond, then responded, "Yes, but we would've recognized you as friendly. The wildcats next door, not so much. The Northern Peacekeeping army is here, as well as Holt Habberath, and my own contingent of Council Guardsbeasts. Somethin' big's about to happen, so unless you want a fight, I suggest you head for the hills." He paused, as if to assess the otter, then added, "You can go down to the camp for supplies, if you need. Just tell them Deimar sent ye. In the meantime, I have an errand that needs doing. Farewell, traveler." He hopped away through the trees.

Blade looked at the pawthen back at Irvine...then the paw again. "I dont know where thats been...."
"Irvine...somthin' bad has happend to One-eye." he said pulling open a tent flap. One-eye was laying there on a cot. There was sturdy wooden pole across his back to straighten it.
The fall from the wall had seriously hurt him.
"One-eye...what have i told you...Dont climb anything unless im around..." Said Irvine jokingly. "It aint funny Irvine....Im in serious pain here...." he said almost in tears. "I know I know... Tell me what happened..."
