Martin spun around, suprised. "Rose?" he asked, love in his voice. " I thought you were supposed to be helping with the slingers?" he asked, embrcing her. There was a cut just above Martins brow, which he could not feel. A great owl flew over, staking out the battlefield.

"I was but...We need you back there. Note many of us have actually seen a real battle before and we need advice and a prep talk wouldn't be to bad. "oh...I'm so nervouse. What if we don't make it?" She looked at him, clear fear in her eyes. Rakko was watching her, mputh open, obviosly awe struck.

Silas looked about uncertainly, actually wondering if this were a dream. He offered some advice anyway. "Just show 'em that ye mean business. Never back down. They never gave you that chance. Why should they get one?"

Martin smiled at her. " we'll be fine. You'll see. We'll make it through us. The both of us. We can go back to Noonvale, and live." he said, trying to boost her confidence. From their vantge point on the top of the hill, they could see all of Marshank. The slingers were ready. The fur and freedom fighters were on the parade grounds, and the reinforcements well hidden. " We'll win this. I promise." he said, his eyes beggening to show bloodwrath.

She nodded as she looked into his eyes. "We will" she breathed. She turned to look at the fighters at their camp. From far away, it was almost impossible to tell most of them had no clue what they where doing. "We're not used to fighting Martin. I just hope they remember what you've tought them."

Silas drew out his sword, which, he noted, was not there when he fell asleep. "Well, dream or not, I'll help." He twirled the sword expertly, practically juggling it as it span, the blade shimmering in the moonlight.

" glad of the help matey." he said, and promptly left. He haded down to the parade grounds, to brief the infantry. Dwopple asked. " who was dat?" looking at him. He looked... just like his Papa. The sounds of unroudy vermin came from Marshank, swelling in volume as the air thickened with the mist before a battle.

Serval looked at Dwopple, still in her arms. "That was Martin the warrior." She said, in a hshed tone. Rakko fallowed Martin and drew his sword. "Anythin' to help matie!"

Martin briefed the fighters, taking on a solemn tone. After that was finished, he got up and approached the company. Silas sheathed his sword, having second thoughts. He pulled out an odd contraption. It was a cross between a bow and a 2X4 piece of wood strapped to his back, along with a quiver of arrows. To his furthur dismay, that was not there before falling asleep also. He held the bow sideways, pulling it back to a mechanism that locked the string back. He loaded an arrow into the slot in the wood, and nodded towards Martin.

Rakko swished his sword around a few times and looked at the warriors, thent o Maritn. "Where do ye want us mate? The Abe-er, Serval and Soubi could be slingers, but I'ce like to fight along side ye, if tha's alright."

Martin braced himself, looking around him. Many brave and loyal creatures assembled around him, many of them would not live past sunset. "Fur and freeeeeeeeedom!" he yelled, holding his sword outright in front of him. The battering ram his the door of Marshank, splintering timbers. The archers and slingers, headed by Rose, took off some vermin on the ramparts. An eagle call echoed across the plain, Rose's way of letting Martin know she was fine. Sadly, he could not hear her, consumned by bloodwrath.

Silas Hefted his contraption and leapt into the nearest tree, not 30 feet away from the walls. At eye level with the vermin, he took aim. The first to notice, a weasel, laughed at Silas aiming his contraption. "'oy, Mates, 'ave a go at that! Hahaha!" He was then silenced by the thrum of the string being loosed, and the arrow almost instantaneously going through his body to hit a ferret in the side. The battle for Marshank had begun.

Rose watched, silently as Martin swung his heavy sword. She had never been able to pick it up yet, he seamed to use it with ease. Then, she cought a small glimse of his eyes. Red? Not possible. She slung a stone and nocked a rat down.
Rakko swung his sword beside Martin, careful not to get in is way. He had seen creatures in the bloodwrath state and they wern't fun to mess with. He slew a fox on a simle swing of his sword. Serval looked at the sling in her hands and rage suddenly consumed her. She had a short flashback to before she had become Abbess. When she, herself swung the great sword of the valient mouse in front of her. She looked around and found a sword. She threw down the sling and picked up Dwopple. She put him inside a tent and spoke to him clearly. "Stay here. You musn't leave this tent untill, I, Soubi, Rakko, Rose, Martin, or Silias comes to get you. Do you here me?"

Martin was consumed. All around him foebeasts fell like grain to the scythe. An arrow peirced his shoulder, but he barely noticed. His blade thrumed through the air as it cut a deadly path of destruction. Martin slew a vermin croaching up on Rakko with a single blow, decapatating him. ~~~ Dwopple nodded his head solemnly. "I stay hewe, pwomise!" he said, completley trusting her.

She looked at the young mose fondly then raced out, grabbing the sword. She nodded to Rose and flew into the battle. Rakko had seen her and fell back to fight with her. "What are you doing?" he hissed. "Fighting like the wqarrior of Redwall I once was!" She replied, hacking at a vermin. She kept swinging, a puzzled expresion growing on her face. "Do you think Salamandasteron has been established yet? There was a distant cry of "FIRE!" and a row a of slingshots came firing at the vermin.
