"true" Rillbrook said. " im an otter, and a noble one at that" he whispered. " what does it matter to ye?" he asks, a defiant and dangerous look in his eye. He would get Taggle at all costs.

"Cuase I am the key to your....younger brother surviving..." He said putting the knife away. "There no need for your suit now...another otter doesnt make a difference here...your just another slave weather your a rat or an otter.... Get cleaned up after your shift...." he said pushing the otter away from him.

Rillbrook looked stunned. He quickly recovered, and went abut his work. After his shift, he began to clean up, extricating himself from the rat suit. He stowed it safely, and walked to the slave quarters. He saw Taggle, standing near Decay.....

Decay handed taggle a small loaf of bread. He wanted to keep him in good health. He knew sooner or later The otters would try somthing...like a rescue attempt And If that happened he wanted taggle to be able to escape.
But Dannarth did not ignore taggle..He noticed he wasnt thing out like the rest of them he knew Decay had somthing to do with it......

Taggle ate the bread graciously. He looked at an otter, walking slowly across the ruins to the slave quarters. He looked just like Papa! Taggle dugged Decay's sleeve, making him bend down so he could whisper in his ear, " who's dat otter over dere?" he asked. The otter in question had a star on his right front forepaw, and seemed the right build for a slave. He was skinny, and scarred. The otter acted as if he did not see them.

Decay realized Rill did not want to be noticed. "He's...just a new slave.....he's been here a while..." he said. He didnt want taggle to be near him in fear of Dannarth finding out. he had to make somthing up....but what?
"He's a dangerous one that...killed a few of his own i hear....he especialy like to kill young otters like yourself...." He said....Maybe he went overboard with that one....

Taggle squeaked in fright. Hiding behind Decay, he studied him. His eyes were hard, determined. Hid body looked as if it was used to hard work, and he had a lean form. He was in perfect condition. Rillbrook saw Taggle hide behind Decay, and looked quickly away. "soon....." Rillbrook thought. "soon, we'll get out of here. ALL of us." he thought defiantly, his face betraying no emotion. Rillbrook then had the supreme misfotrine of stepping on a particuarly jagged peice of stone, which pricked his footpaw just enought ot make it bleed. He cried out, more from suprise than pain.

Danarth's ears percked up as he heard the cry of pain...he liked it...But then the smell came to his nostrills...the smell of blood...
~~~~~~~~~
"You see! Already he wants to attack you!" shouted Decay as best he could to Taggle upon hearing Rill's cry of pain. "Run back to your tent!" he said.
~~~~~~~~~
Danarth was making his way to the source of the blood smell. He stopped upon seeing Decay near Taggle. "Decay...." his deep thundering voice said. "To my tent...." he said turning around and heading back to his tent. Decay hung is head knowing what was about to happen. He started off twoards Danarths tent.

Taggle rushed inside the tent and hid. Rillbrook, seeing his chance, limped over to Taggle's tent, and entered quickly. Taggle was huddled in the corner, shaking. " hello Taggle." Rillbrook said softly, sitting down on the bed. Taggle looked up, suprised. " how'd yoo know my name?" he asked, not as afraid now. " Don't you remember me? Well, i guess not, you was only a liddle mite when i left the holt..." Rillbrook said. "I"m your brother." He said, holding out his right paw for examination. On it, the heritage of every streamstar: a white star birthmark.
