"I said nothing about winning Floret back from em' matey...I just wanna find Taggle and get outta there...Id like ta' avoid the wildcat all together...one encounter is quite enough for me....That wildcat is the devil e' is...." He looked very seriously at the Captain. "We're goin to floret Captian.... end of disscusion...." he said jerking his dagger out of the table and walking out of the Quarters.

The Captain gave a shrug. "Well, it's our duty to help anybeast in need. That's the purpose o' this 'ere army, whethere we like it or not we'll have to get rid o' that cat sooner or later. But let us worry about that." He looked over at his own sea charts of the east coasts. He marked a few coves with a quill pen, and then went up on deck to survey the land.

Irvine stopped at the door. "Iv got a score to settle with that cat..." he said closing the door behind him.

The captain remarked, "We all do, mate." From the ship's wheel, Tom reported, "Looks like we're heading out to sea a little too far, Captain." He looked out at the gathering clouds to the east. "Take 'er in a little closer to land. We'll try and plow through the storm." The otter Captain said over a slightly increasing gust of wind.

"Matey!" Shouted Irvine over the windgust and waves. "I could go for a good Storm battle! Take 'er out farther!....put me incharge for a while...you'll have the ride of yerlife!" he said in a truley knowingly tone.

"I wouldn't count on it sir!" one of the beasts called up from the rigging as he was coming down, wind blowing his bushy tail around. "Not with this crew!"
The Captain stroked his whiskers thoughtfully. "Well, if it's speed yer lookin' fer, we could get a current goin' out there, unless we wants ter play it safe with all these unexperienced crewbeasts." He thought a moment longer. "Ah well, we'll mop up the barf later. The deck's yours." He bowed slightly in the Skipper's direction.

The Skipper grinned evily grabbing onto the rope above him bracing himself. "Speed is nice...but every once and a while ya' need ta' 'ave fun!" He quickly climbed a few ropes giving himself a better view of the sea. He could see the storm was getting. Every wave was bigger than the last. suddenly a wave crashed onto the deck of the ship. " Ah! Thats what i like! Captain!" he said seeing large wave beggining to rise. "Head out farther to sea!....Straight twoards that big 'un there...." he said with an almost evil laugh. It was apparent he liked doing this. "All beast! To the front of the deck! Wiegh it down good!...we'll slice through the wave with ease...."

A wave buffeted over three beasts making their way to the bows. Upon seeing this, the Lieutenant yelled above the storm, " We need lifelines! Make sure no one goes over!" She moved to help a mouse, then got knocked over herself, eyes watery with salt water. Tom himself was trying to hold the wheel with the Captain. Then the rain came. It came in sheets, blown almost sideways into the faces of the crewbeasts on deck. "I don't like the look o' this!" Tom yelled. "Well ye better get used to it, there's no turnin' back!" The Captain replied. He gazed up at Irvine for a second, and was rewarded with more rain in the face. "I 'ope he knows what 'es doin'." He said under his breath.

As the wave drew near he shouted over the sound of the wind. " Brace yer'selves lads!" Withen second the wave grew as tall as the ship. They crashed through it with a strong force appearing almost unhurt on the other side. Since they were on the other side they were now going down the wave. " All beast to the back!" he shouted. He could see the next wave beggining to form. To the left there was a opening where the wave had not yet quite formed. "Captian! Port side!". He was a Natural at sea navigation. There had been many times where he was in a tight spot at sea during a storm. He would often you a great storm to have the atvantage in a battle. "Port Side Captain!" he said seeing the Wave draw dangerously close to closing the gap. ((Helped me out with my ship parts www.cccoe.net/lifeatsea/student/shipparts.htm ))

Tom and The Captain Span the wheel in desperation to comply with Irvine's order. Two beasts vomited subsequently on deck. Then, the wave hit. The Lieutenant, who was making her way to the stern, was thrown back, hitting the rail, leaning dangerously close to falling off. Tom and a Staff seargent leapt to her aid before she went over. "I'm afraid there's no lounging here, miss!" The staff seargent yelled above the wind.
The straining of timbers marked the next wave, this time coming from the starboard side due to the turn the Captain made, which took them directly south, parallel with the shore, and the waves.

The Skipper could see the wind was about to rip the Mainmast directly off the ship. "Heave those sails in lads'!" he shouted over the storm. A strong gust suddenly blew the skipper to the other side of the mast. He held onto the ropes tightley gritting his teeth. "This is the life! Eh' Silas?!" he shouted. He spoted the wave to the starboard side. They had missed the opening in the wave so he had to play it dangerously. "Hard to starboard captain! Lets crash through it!"

**BTW it's tom, not silas on board**
Tom looked up, and saw the few who ventured out onto the swinging, groaning mast. "Move it! We need to get those sails furled!" He called at his squad. They clung to the ropes for dear life as another wave sent the creatures on deck sprawling. Tom was making fair headway up the rope, with a few others close behind. They furled the sails up to the rigging speedily, the whole time the ship rocking and groaning. After they had done that, A swing of the mast caught five beasts off-guard. They fell, some screaming, until their lifelines stopped them. The fourth one swayed back into the mast, knocking him unconsious.
"Get him below!" Tom said. He peered landward through the driving rain to see a mountainous shape in the distance.

The ships crashed through way even easier than before. "Were getting farther from land! heres less waves out here...I think things are starting to calm d-" he said being cut off by lightning strike that struck the mainmast. He landed on the deck with a thud. There was crack in the mainmast...before it plummeted into the sea. He climbed the next nearest mast and continued looking out as if nothing happened." the waves were much calmer not...it was still stormy and rainy but the waves were much less.

As the rain started to clear up, Tom looked to the starboard side, which was now facing east. He saw two silouettes indicating the other two ships had made it too, going around the storm. The captain cast a weary eye upon the broken mast and sighed. "That's gonna take some doin'." Lightning still flashed, and the rain drizzled on. Those left on the top deck were relieved by those who rode out the storm below.

The Skipper clapped his paws together dusting them off of Invisble dirt still getting drenched by the rain. " Captian...Keep rolling directly over the smaller waves." He Turned to Tom. "And That! Is how you navigate a Storm!" he said with great pleasure smilling from ear to ear.
